Fast-tracking tropical forages for twin-win agricultural systems

The central aim of this initiative is to create the necessary conditions for widespread establishment of agricultural systems that incorporate sown forages. These systems have huge potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sequester carbon, while restoring degraded land. They can also permit large numbers of farmers across the tropics to double milk yields per animal and boost meat production per hectare by a factor of two or three, generating significant nutritional and economic gains.
